Day 6: Hike to Key Summit on Routeburn Track

This is the view we had from our cabin at Knobs Flat... Not bad, huh?

We walked to Key Summit, which initially follows the Routeburn Track (a popular 3-day hike to Lake Wakatipu). We started in damp native forest and then ended up in open ground with alpine tarns, shrub land, and bogs. The Key Summit viewpoint provides spectatular views of the Hollyford, Greenstone, and Eglinton Valleys.

We saw this neat waterfall, which actually is a lot longer than it seems in this pic.
