Scott and I had a WONDERFUL trip in the Tetons and Yellowstone for our 6-year anniversary!
Scott MADE me do this... NOT! I can't help myself but be silly! :)
You can't take Scott anywhere without him finding a new friend... :)
We spotted this bull moose, up close and personal, getting a drink out of a stream off one of the less-travelled roads in Teton Nat'l Park - neat!
Scott happened to notice this lil' guy on the side of the road as he was driving - a marmot that "barked" at us in his high-pitched voice!
We hiked down about a gazillion stairs to the base of what's referred to as "The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone" where we enjoyed a PB&J picnic together - fun memory!
We stayed one night in Yellowstone and happened upon this pretty deer on our way out, not scared at all by our presence.
This herd of elk were just hanging out in this town we went through in Yellowstone - wild!
These mud pots were pretty incredible the way they'd spit and sputter... To think there's that much heat and pressure under the ground rising up was/is a little scary... And, I might add, smelly!
I thought this was neat since you could see the depth of the pool so well through the clear blue water.
I was amazed at the rich, beautiful colors that accompany these hot springs.
This would not be a good point to jump from, Peeps! The water from the hot springs is extremely acidic and HOT. Believe it or not, some parasites/bacteria can actually live in it!
These hot springs in Yellowstone were unbelievable - WOW!
Old Faithful Lodge is definitely a "must see"! It's an amazing structure and just neat to walk through!
We, of course, had to see Old Faithful while in Yellowstone - neat!
Another beautiful sunset... They never get old!
We got to see lots of elk while we were there as well, which was neat!
One of the highlights of our trip was going to Bar J's Chuckwagon dinner and show! The Bar J Wranglers work the ranch during the the day and put on this show at night several months of the year. The food was excellent (especially the beef brisket!) and the show was exceptional as well! It's a "must" should you ever go yourself!
This "banner" of antlers is at 4 different corners of the town square - cool!
Scott made a new friend on the trip - someone actually harrier than him!! :)
Even though we were celebrating our anniversary, another got my attention... Sorry, Scott!
We just enjoyed God's handiwork the whole week!
We found lots of beautiful old barns on Mormon Road. How would you like having their view?
We had herds of buffalo that walked right in front of our car throughout the trip - wild!
We enjoyed seeing the grooves on the hillside made by the frequent crossing of the buffalo in Teton National Park!
Holding the camera as far away as I can and taking our picture has become our anniversary trip tradition!
We went on a hiking trail from Coulter Bay to see Heron Lake and Swan Lake. As you can see, it was just beautiful! Ironically, we saw swans on Heron Lake and heron on Swan Lake!
We rented a cabin for the week at Coulter Bay - aahhhh! One morning, we left this marina in a canoe and came across a mother otter and 3 baby otters! We enjoyed our muffins on the still waters!
Scott and I celebrated our 6-year anniversary in Jackson Hole, WY surrounded by the beautiful Tetons!
