Day 5: Kayaking on Milford Sound on Our 9-Year Anniversary!

We went kayaking on Milford Sound on our anniversary. Not a bad way to celebrate, huh? Thankfully, we went in the morning, when there are less boats to compete with and more nature/natural sounds to enjoy.

This outing was a definite highlight to our trip! Being out on the water really gave us a deeper appreciation for the great size of these mountains - wow! The sheer rock faces rise 3900 feet or more on either side.
Milford Sound is a fjord within Fiordland National Park, judged as the world's top travel destination in an international survey and acclaimed as NZ's most famous tourist destination. Milford Sound is also one of the wettest places in the world; so, we were super thankful to not have rain while visiting this area! Posted by Picasa
